Since recording her first album in 2005 with then band One if By Sea, Doireann Ansbro has continued writing, singing and performing alongside her career as a human rights lawyer. Following years abroad in England, Geneva and Tunisia she returned to Ireland in 2017 to make her second album as Little Oak. The first, Dark Falls, was released to wide acclaim in 2012.

The new album, Breaking Light , is a collection of intimate, honest and thoughtful songs, that offer the listener a tour through the last few years of her life- taking on the weighty themes of life’s purpose, love, how to heal from heartbreak and find a sense of home, hope and belonging in a world that seems fractured and disconnected.

Breaking Light was recorded, co-produced and mixed by Doug Sheridan in Dublin in 2017. Dark Falls was recorded, co-produced and mixed by Owen Cornelius at Mighty Fine Studios, Dublin in 2010.

Little Oak has featured on Irish radio and received glowing press reviews, including from the The Irish Times. Sign up to Little Oak’s newsletter for gigs near you. Get in touch on the contact page for more information, interviews and collaborations.
